THE PARTNERS
Michael G. Bailey, CPA is the founding partner of Bailey Saetveit & Co. His professional expertise includes tax planning and compliance, and qualified plan installation and administration. He assists clients with the formation, capitalization and initial planning for new businesses. In addition, he has structured several mergers, asset purchases and sales, corporate spin-offs and tax deferred exchanges. Michael also assists entrepreneurs with business succession planning and estate planning. His background within the service, construction, oil and gas, real estate development and manufacturing industries gives him a broad based foundation for management consulting and tax planning in almost any small business. Michael graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of South Dakota in 1968. Michael is a member of the Colorado Society of CPA's and the American Institute of CPA's. Michael enjoys golfing and building cars in his spare time.
William R. Saetveit, CPA has served as the audit partner with Bailey Saetveit & Co. since 1977. His professional expertise includes auditing and financial statement preparation, business tax planning and tax return preparation, and financial planning. Bill actively supervises the Firm's pension and profit sharing administration. He also serves individuals and small businesses with a specialty in automobile dealers and dealerships. He also has extensive experience representing both buyers and sellers in negotiating the purchase and sale of their businesses and in serving construction contractors, printers, real estate agents, family partnerships, and limited liability companies. Bill received his B.A. degree from Luther College in 1967, and his M.B.A. degree from Indiana University in 1969. He is a member of the Colorado Society of CPA's and the American Institute of CPA's. Bill enjoys tennis, golf and baseball.
William K. Schaefer, CPA is a tax partner with Bailey Saetveit & Co., joining the firm in 1982. Bill assists clients, both individuals and small businesses, with their income tax planning and compliance. He specializes in areas that include real estate investment and development, small manufacturing, professional service providers and other small businesses. Bill has significant experience in resolving disagreements between the IRS and taxpayers, including IRS audit representation and offer in compromise negotiation. During the supervision and preparation of individual, partnership and corporate income tax returns, Bill combines his knowledge of family financial and income tax planning to make appropriate recommendations that benefit his clients. Bill graduated with a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1981. Bill is a member of the Colorado Society of CPA's and the American Institute of CPA's.
STAFF
Patricia H. Montoya, CPA joined the firm in 2001 and is a manager with Bailey Saetveit & Co. Patty provides tax consulting and compliance services to individuals and closely-held businesses. She is experienced in all phases of taxation with substantial expertise in complex corporate, partnership and multi-state tax issues. Patty has extensive experience in financial statement engagements involving preparation of review and compilation level financial statements for small businesses. Areas of specialization include real estate, automobile dealerships, manufacturing, construction and other small businesses. As manager, she trains and supervises staff in addition to involvement with income tax preparation and review. Patty graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPA's and the American Institute of CPA's.
David Riley, CPA graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. After spending two years working in Texas, it was decided that Colorado was the place to be. David secured a position at a CPA firm in Denver and never looked back. David's experience includes CPA firms in Texas and Colorado and in the private sector. David specializes in the tax side of the business, but has experience doing a bit of everything.
Cheryl Mitchell, CPA graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems emphasis in Accounting. She has experience in many industries including service, oil and gas, and real estate. She has many years experience working with small businesses using QuickBooks and Peachtree software packages. She assists clients in setting up accounting records, software training, tax planning, as well as day to day accounting functions. She is experienced in preparing individual, partnership and corporate tax returns. Cheryl's free time is spent engaged in family activities with her kids.
Janice B. Galemba, CPA graduated from the University of Denver with a bachelor's degree in accountancy and a master's degree in taxation. Since she joined the firm in 1979 she has done a little of everything for our firm but she specializes in qualified retirement plan administration and individual taxation. Jan works a lot of hours during tax season and works part-time the rest of the year. She enjoys surfing the net, traveling, photography, reading and being crafty.
Bonnie R. Lemons joined our staff in 2001. She brings years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, accounting and taxation for service businesses. As a former small business owner herself, she is able to understand the special needs of clients in that classification. Bonnie also acts as an administrative assistant for the company. If she is not in the office, you will most likely find her on the golf course.
