We would like to share with you some of the organizations we support for the great jobs they do.

THE CHALLENGE FOUNDATION

The Challenge FoundationBailey Saetveit & Co. assisted the Challenge Foundation with the accounting issues related to the formation of the Foundation, and continues to prepare the organization's monthly accounting. The Foundation's mission is to ensure college admission to select students who have no other means by which to achieve a higher education. Its philosophy is based upon the strong belief that a child's educational environment plays a critical role in determining the child's future academic success. A seven-year program provides a positive, supportive and constructive environment for the child, both in the classroom and outside of school. Students begin the program in the sixth grade, and upon successful completion through middle school, become eligible for the Foundation's scholarship grant to college prep high school. To remain eligible for the program, students must make a significant commitment to maintain a high grade point average, meet attendance and discipline standards, and perform community service.  Each student is also assigned a mentor who partners with the child's family to encourage the student's positive character development and academic success.

CROSS & CLEF MINISTRIES

Cross & Clefs MinistriesBailey Saetveit & Co. manages the bookkeeping and prepares the non-profit tax return for Cross & Clef Ministries. Established by Reverend John Swanger, an accomplished and produced religious musician, Cross & Clef Ministries' mission is to feed Denver's homeless both physically and spiritually. Cross & Clef quietly distributes food on a daily basis to hundreds of homeless in downtown Denver. Reverend John also counsels many homeless individuals, offering assistance to those who are capable of returning to responsible positions in society, by providing temporary housing, transportation, and assistance in obtaining jobs.

BOYS HOPE/GIRLS HOPE OF COLORADO

Boys Hope/Girls HopeBailey Saetveit & Co. contributes an annual audit of the financial statements of Boys Hope/Girls Hope of Colorado (BHGH). This organization helps at-risk children who are academically capable to realize their potential by providing value-centered, family-like homes and quality education through their college years. Since 1995, a residential facility, located on Arapahoe Road just east of Parker Road, provides housing for boys while they attend Regis High School.

Children enter the residential program between ages 10 and 14 and remain a part of the program through high school. Upon graduation, they continue to receive consistent support through scholarships, home visits, and life long relationships. The organization has plans to develop a similar residential facility for young girls in the near future. BHGH of Colorado is affiliated with Boys Hope/Girls Hope National, which has established homes for boys and girls in major cities within the United States.

THE BRENT ELEY FOUNDATION

Brent Eley FoundationBailey Saetveit & Co. is a sponsor of the Kids Cure for Cancer, an event in which several of our staff members and friends participate.  Brent Eley lost a vigorous battle with cancer in October 1988 at the age of fourteen, and touched many who knew him with his courage, positive spirit, and neverending sense of humor. A year after Brent's death, his family set out to make a difference for families of children with cancer, creating the annual fundraising event called "Kids Cure for Cancer."  Adults and children pair up in teams to participate in a variety of event activities such as tennis, a 5k run/walk, a 1 k family fun run/walk and a children's obstacle course. After the Foundation was created in 1997, a facility called "Brent's Place" was opened the following year. Brent's Place houses families while their children are undergoing long-term treatment at the Children's Hospital's bone marrow transplant unit. It also provides a multi-purpose learning center with computer access to the Internet and a resource library for families in need of additional information and services.  Brent's Place, with the support of the Brent Eley Foundation, provides ongoing counseling and friendship support to the families.
